Q-Free to showcase groundbreaking demo and product launch at ITS World Congress

Q-Free to showcase cutting-edge solutions at ITS World Congress, highlighting live traffic network, cybersecurity, and strategic partnerships

Q-Free, a global leader in mobility solutions for smart city infrastructure, is set to showcase its innovative tolling and traffic management solutions at the upcoming ITS World Congress in Atlanta, Georgia, from August 24-28, 2025. In addition to its presence on the show floor, Q-Free will be featured in several official Tech Tours, where attendees will experience the real-world impact of its cutting-edge technologies.

Unprecedented Interoperability Demo

Q-Free’s Kinetic® Mobility ATMS will be at the center of a groundbreaking live traffic network demo directly on the showroom floor, offering hands-on experience with seamless device integration. For the first time, the exhibit hall will showcase how ITS devices—ranging from traffic cameras and signs to roadside units (RSUs) for connected vehicle applications—work together in real time across multiple systems and protocols.

This demo highlights the collaboration between Q-Free, Cisco, and other leading ITS vendors. Cisco is providing the network infrastructure for the demo, including the NOC setup, deployed overnight to ensure real-time connectivity. Additional key partners providing technologies and solutions include Cohda Wireless, Commsignia, Curiosity Labs, Daktronics, Esri, FLIR, Gwinnett County, Hanwha Vision, Iteris, Ouster, RoadSys, Sensys, and local agency host, Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT)—all working together to deliver this live experience.

Tech Tour Highlights: See Q-Free Solutions in Action

Q-Free’s solutions are also actively contributing to ITS World Congress Tech Tours during the event, providing real-world examples of ITS integration in Georgia’s transportation landscape:

  • Curiosity Lab at Peachtree Corners: Tour attendees will experience the power of connected vehicles as buses traveling to the Curiosity Lab, a leading smart city environment, receive preemption along their route. This is made possible through a partnership between Gwinnett County, Cisco, Neutron Edge, and Q-Free using MAXTIME cv, cellular-based connected vehicle (CV) technology, and advanced emergency vehicle preemption (EVP) functionality.
  • The Automotive Technology Laboratory (iATL): Q-Free’s ATC traffic controllers and MAXTIME software will be on display at the iATL, the world’s first private-sector connected vehicle lab. Here, attendees will see how Q-Free’s technologies are deployed to test and demonstrate real-time vehicle and infrastructure interaction.
  • Cobb County Braves Stadium: During this tech tour, attendees will once again experience MAXTIME intersections along the route to Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves, where Q-Free’s ATMS solution centrally manages traffic signals at the stadium and its adjacent mixed-use development, helping ensure smooth traffic flow during large events.

Q-Free’s Role with GDOT and Beyond

As the statewide signal supplier to the Georgia Department of Transportation, Q-Free software runs over 8,500 signals statewide through its local and central traffic management software solutions. Q-Free continues to play a critical role in Georgia’s transportation efficiency, working alongside GDOT to provide reliable and scalable traffic management system for its communities.

Presentation Insights

In addition to the live demos, Q-Free will participate in two key speaking sessions:

  • AI-driven solutions for traffic enforcement applications

  • Staying ahead of cyber threats
Whitney Nottage, Q-Free’s EVP of Traffic Management, will join a panel discussion on cybersecurity in transportation, addressing the challenges of securing transportation networks against emerging threats on Wednesday, August 27, 1:00 – 2:30 pm (A312).
  • Fair Moblity as a Service (Fair MaaS) to sustainability beyond
Silje Troseth, Q-Free’s VP Asia & Pacific, will join a panel on Fair MaaS, exploring how digitalized, sustainable mobility services can be accessible and equitable for all on Thursday, August 28, 8:00 – 9:30 am (A305).
