As a Junior SQA Engineer, you’ll conduct manual testing of software programs. Using various test methods and strategies, you will use the appropriate methods for test requests based on the item being tested, the schedule, and the budget. You will create test procedures and test scripts in support of the formal testing process. Additionally, identify improvements to established processes and make recommendations to the QA/QC manager.
Responsibilities
- Conduct manual testing using the documented test script.
- Document bugs and enhancements in a bug-tracking tool
- Compile the test results into a Software Test Report.
- Conduct ad-hoc testing
- Develop and execute manual test cases.
- Understanding of the SQA process and the associated standard
- Demonstrate understanding of database concepts and the ability to create queries to extract data.
- Understanding of the entire Software Development Lifecycle
- Ability to derive error/negative cases and boundary/edge cases
- Participate in technical reviews of software specifications and prototypes to identify and report defects and areas for improvement.
- Review requirements and develop test plans and test cases to verify requirements.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years’ experience in software testing, with practical knowledge of QA/QC methodology and process.
- Familiarity with activities and methodology associated with the QA/QC process.
- Practical working knowledge of software testing methodology.
- Ability to utilize automated test tools to conduct stress and performance testing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, executives, other management staff, and employees.
- Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, graphics packages, and the Internet.
- Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in written format.
- Strong attention to detail with proven verbal and written communication skills is essential.
- Able to work independently as well as within a team environment.
- Understanding of the SQA process and associated standards.
- Willingness to travel, as required.
