High Speed / Low Speed Weigh in Motion
Weigh in Motion (WIM) systems use in-ground piezo-electric or quartz sensors to weigh and classify vehicles in live traffic lanes. This can be for statistical reasons related to asset management or for enforcement. Highly detailed information can be gathered, including sizes and types of vehicle, numbers of axles, and per-axle and overall vehicle weights.
Q-Free provides both high-speed Weigh in Motion systems for use in live lanes and low-speed Weigh in Motion systems for use in inspection and other low-speed applications.
Weigh in Motion products
High-speed weigh in motion
HI-TRAC® range of high speed weigh in motion systems are installed along highways to weigh vehicles at normal highway speeds (20-120kph) and detect, count and classify vehicles from 5kph-200kph. They can achieve accuracies from COST 323 Class A(5) +/-5% Gross Weight to COST 323 Class C(15) +/-15% Gross Weight at 95% confidence depending on requirements.
Low-speed weigh in motion
The LO-TRAC® 300 system is a configurable multi-function Vehicle Axle Weighing System. It provides a means of measuring axle weights and gross vehicle weights either statically or dynamically, providing either enforcement of vehicle weight limits for government authorities or overload prevention for transport companies.
