Truck Tolling
GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) based Road User Charging is already operational in Europe. Slovakia’s deployment of a GNSS solution for its nation wide Truck Tolling scheme clearly demonstrates that this is a mature technology.
The technology offers maximum flexibility in order to secure future increases in the volume of freight transport and road-network extensions across Slovakia. The system is based on a combination of GNSS and DSRC (OBUs and readers).
Q-Free’s solutions utilizes GNSS-OBUs with the capacity of DSRC communications for easy control. The enforcement equipment, in fixed control posts or mobile enforcement vehicles, is equipped with ANPR cameras for the purpose of identifying violators and providing legal evidence for the violation.
