Q-Free supplied the first operational Electronic Registration Identification (ERI)-based system in Indonesia

In Indonesia, Dishub Jakarta (Dinas Perhubungan, the transportation authority in the province of Jakarta) has elected to use CEN-standard Dedicated Short-Range Communication (DSRC)-based On-Board Units (OBUs) for ERI of yellow-plated (public transport) vehicles. This all-electronic solution will enable Dishub Jakarta to increase road safety by ensuring that all vehicles have passed the appropriate checks, to automate its vehicle inspection processes, and to introduce online payment facilities.

Q-Free has supplied the technology which supports these aims. The Yellow Plate ERI project, which went live in December 2012, is seen as a very important step towards the eventual realization of a national Intelligent Transportation System for this highly populated and growing nation.
