Dutch automated enforcement specialist Gatsometer B.V. was contracted to provide section control (average speed enforcement) on five stretches of the A2 and A4 highways in the Netherlands. Q-Free was invited to supply the ALPR software to support operations.

All five road sections covered by the contract have been operational since December 2012. Over 500,000 images per day are checked and the Q-Free-supplied Optical Character Recognition (OCR) solution is demonstrating an ability to correctly recognize 97 percent of the images at an error rate of 0.1 percent.
