- Traffic imaging system with integrated Automatic Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR)
- Industry-leading image quality in all lighting conditions
- Standard monochrome ALPR version with invisible infrared illumination
- Optional dual-monochrome ALPR version in a single housing
The Q-Free MD1550 Traffic Imaging System is specifically designed for video tolling and enforcement in multi-lane or single-lane ETC installations. The imaging system is designed for Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR), vehicle identification or imaging for vehicle classification.
The system consists of a camera unit and an illumination unit, mounted together or independently. The standard version is designed for ALPR applications with monochrome imaging using an infrared illumination source which produces light which is invisible to the human eye.
The dual monochrome ALPR version contains, within a shared housing, a double set of components of the standard monochrome ALPR version, including camera, processing unit, power supply and double flash unit. It provides greater redundancy — in the case of failure of one of the two units, the other unit can be switched to automatically by the tolling system. The colour ALPR version is designed for ALPR applications where colour imaging is required, using a white light illumination source which causes minimum disturbance to drivers. The imaging system’s flash unit may be mounted on the side of the camera, vertically below the camera, or independently from the camera.
